Description

The youth program of the Sparkassen Cultural Foundation Rhineland supports associations, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public bodies active in North Rhine-Westphalia that implement artistic and cultural offerings for children and young people at a professional level. Creative formats are supported in digital, analog, or hybrid form, which involve young people as equal partners in the creative process. The aim is to initiate free creative processes and enable projects of high artistic quality with sustainable regional anchoring. The focus is on thematic areas such as cultural mediation, music, media art, digitalization, and social approaches. The program is particularly aimed at initiatives that independently involve young target groups in project development and respectfully consider their perspectives.

Funding is provided in the form of grants; applications must be submitted before the start of the project and serve exclusively non-profit purposes. Excluded, among others, are ongoing operational and maintenance costs, CD/film productions, printing subsidies, instrument purchases, organ restorations, and construction projects. Evaluation criteria include cultural significance in the Rhineland, artistic quality, sustainable regional anchoring, and alignment with the foundation’s purpose. Required documents include a detailed project description, concept, financing plan, proof of non-profit status, and CVs of the project leaders. The submission deadlines are February 1 and August 1 each year via the application portal with the addition “Youth Program.” The Sparkassen Cultural Foundation Rhineland actively supports approved projects through consultation and supervision and sees itself as a reliable partner for young cultural projects.
