Description
In the federal state of Carinthia, the Carinthian Biosphere Park Fund Nockberge supports projects that promote environmentally friendly and sustainable tourism in the Nockberge Biosphere Park. The goal is to combine regional value creation with ecological responsibility while optimizing local mobility through environmentally compatible transport solutions. Private individuals, sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations, cooperatives, as well as associations and organizations may submit applications at any time. Project ideas range from gentle accommodation and guided nature experiences to innovative mobility concepts. A resolution by the Nockberge Biosphere Park Committee as well as compliance with the funding guidelines ensure a professional review and decision based on state legislation.
Under this direct funding scheme, up to 75% of the eligible total costs are covered, and in special infrastructural cases, even up to 100%. The project duration is designed for up to 36 months, allowing for long-term planning and implementation phases. A prerequisite for funding, in addition to the committee resolution, is the fulfillment of formal requirements such as the declaration of commitment, submission of official permits, and a detailed financing plan with a cost breakdown. Contributions in the form of cash, in-kind, or labor are evaluated according to guidelines and are included in the calculation of the funding amount. Thanks to the continuously open submission period, projects can be flexibly aligned with the region’s development needs and contribute sustainably to the integrated regional development in the Nockberge Biosphere Park.
