Description
Purpose of Funding & Target Group – In the Hohe Tauern National Park region (Carinthia), the Carinthian National Park Fund Hohe Tauern supports nature- and environmentally compatible tourism concepts. Thematically, particular emphasis is placed on measures in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, regional development, energy efficiency, climate protection, as well as agriculture and rural development. Project initiatives that implement sustainable infrastructure measures and environmentally friendly transport solutions in line with the objectives of the Carinthian National Park and Biosphere Park Act are eligible for funding. Eligible applicants include private individuals, sole proprietors, partnerships and corporations, cooperatives, as well as associations and organizations with innovative tourism projects. This grant funding is available indefinitely and can be applied for at any time, with approval by the Hohe Tauern National Park Committee being a prerequisite.
Funding Conditions & Procedure – The funding amount covers up to 75% of eligible project costs and includes planning costs, construction costs, other project expenses, as well as investments in environmentally friendly transport solutions. The maximum project duration is 36 months. Selection is based on alignment with the objectives of the Carinthian National Park Act, ecological compatibility, economic viability, consideration of reasonable own contributions, and coordination with existing funding programs. Application documents include the official funding application, a declaration of commitment, a detailed project description, a financing plan, as well as proof of official approvals (National Park and nature conservation law), own contributions, and, if applicable, a trade license. Compliance with the funding guidelines (in particular points 1.2, 6.1, 6.5, and 6.7) and timely submission to the Carinthian National Park Fund ensure prompt approval and transparent processing for sustainable tourism projects. Applications can be submitted at any time on an ongoing basis to the State of Carinthia. The funding is administered by the Carinthian National Park Fund Hohe Tauern on behalf of the State of Carinthia and provides planning security for long-term strategies in sustainable tourism.
