Description
The catalog funding of the Danner Foundation is aimed at professional artisans with a permanent residence or workshop location in Bavaria (at least five years) who plan a high-quality publication or catalog to comprehensively present their life's work or their overall artistic personality in the field of applied arts. A prerequisite is a pronounced artisanal talent, proof of nationally significant awards, as well as international exhibition and museum experience. The Danner Foundation places great importance on a formative influence on applied arts in Bavaria and expects the publication to be produced by a renowned publisher to guarantee the highest quality and reputation standards. Funding applications can be submitted by email as a single PDF file (max. 5 MB) by the end of February, May, August, and November.
The following documents are required for the application: confirmation of residence or workshop location by the registration authority; curriculum vitae with proof of education; a concise concept description; detailed cost and financing plan; meaningful visual material; as well as consent declarations for the use of image and personal data. Selection is based on established evaluation criteria, including the presentation of the overall work, international presence, formative influence in Bavaria, and publishing expertise. The quarterly board meetings decide on the approval. This funding offers artisans the unique opportunity to document their work in a high-quality medium, make it sustainably visible, and enrich the cultural heritage of Bavarian applied arts.
