Description
The kick connect initiative by the step foundation enables children and adolescents with a refugee background in Baden-Württemberg to access integrative sports and physical activity programs free of charge directly in their communal accommodations. With weekly on-site training sessions, low-threshold meeting spaces are created where participation and integration are actively lived. The project connects participants with local cooperation partners from the fields of social affairs, health, and sports to build a bridge into neighborhood life and promote orientation toward further leisure and educational opportunities. Through playful activities and qualified sports coaches specializing in integration and diversity, values such as fairness, respect, and solidarity are strengthened, and the social mobility of the young target group is sustainably supported.
The ongoing funding targets children and adolescents with a refugee background who live in communal accommodations and thereby gain low-threshold access to a free sports program. A prerequisite is residence in a recognized refugee accommodation within Baden-Württemberg. The aim of the grant is to promote physical health, intensify social participation, and open up new perspectives through movement. Registration can be made at any time, allowing for flexible and timely participation. Interested private individuals can easily contact the step foundation to establish the program in their own neighborhood and thus make a sustainable contribution to municipal integration and democratic cohesion.
