Description

The Daniel Schnakenberg Foundation supports low-income families in Bremen by promoting children’s and youth travel. Children and adolescents up to the age of 17, including foster children, can receive a subsidy of up to 80% of the costs for non-profit organized holiday trips within Germany and Europe – up to a maximum of €20 per child per day. A minimum stay of ten days is required to claim the funding contribution. In this way, the foundation gives young people the opportunity to leave everyday life behind, make new friendships, and participate in varied leisure activities without financial barriers making travel impossible.

Travel costs and participation fees are funded, with applications possible once per year. Required are the completed application form, a copy of the current income statement or Job Center notice, and for the self-employed, the income assessment notice from the penultimate year. The subsidy is paid directly to the organizer and is limited to recognized non-profit providers. Through continuous support, the foundation helps ensure that low-income families have equal access to enriching holiday offers and that children and adolescents can gain comprehensive social and personal development experiences.
