Description
The Children's Culture Fund of the Trier Cultural Foundation enables children from financially disadvantaged households in Rhineland-Palatinate to access cultural education. Annual scholarships are awarded each year to finance music lessons and loan instruments. In cooperation with regional music schools – such as the Karl Berg Music School Trier and the Music School of the Ehrang Elementary School – over 200 young music enthusiasts have already been supported. In addition to instrumental lessons, the fund also supports interdisciplinary artistic activities in the fields of dance, visual arts, and literature. Provided as a grant, the funding extends over a project duration of up to 12 months and includes long-term follow-up scholarships to ensure sustainable learning.
Private individuals can apply at any time. Funding requirements include a strong interest in learning a musical instrument, a household with at least three children, or proven financial need (1.5 times the standard social assistance rate plus basic rent). The application must include the completed application form as well as proof of income and rental costs. The funds can be used flexibly for music lessons and loan instruments. Interested parents submit their documents to the office of the Trier Cultural Foundation and receive a prompt decision. Companies, service clubs, and private sponsors are invited to take on sponsorships and thereby strengthen the initiative permanently. This funding supports young talents, ensures cultural participation, and sustainably enables access to artistic offerings.
