Description
In Lower Austria, a flat-rate grant funding enables non-profit organizations to establish and operate specialized child protection centers. These centers offer counseling and therapeutic support for children and adolescents who have experienced violence or sexual abuse. In the social sector – with a focus on children and youth as well as work & social affairs – not only individual trauma coping but also relatives and professionals from helping professions are involved to build a networked support system for long-term stabilization. Accommodation in acute crisis situations is not part of the funding; rather, the focus is on preventive and purely therapeutic services.
Initial applications are possible until March 31, follow-up applications until January 31 of a year; applications are accepted continuously without limitation. Funding requirements include the suitability determination according to § 26 of the Lower Austrian Child and Youth Welfare Act as well as compliance with the guidelines for flat-rate funding of social services of independent youth welfare (priority level 1). Required documents are a completed application form for funding, a current extract from the association or commercial register or an equivalent certificate, and the decision on the suitability determination. This financing instrument is aimed at providers offering a highly qualified and sustainable support service in child protection.
