Description
The Kindness for Kids Healthcare Award honors outstanding projects in healthcare research every two years with a prize of €40,000 to sustainably improve the healthcare of children with rare diseases. Projects are supported that achieve a noticeable improvement in quality of life through structural adjustments or innovative nursing, physiotherapeutic, or psychosocial therapeutic approaches. Submissions can be made by students, medical and paramedical professionals, physicians, scientists, and employees of non-profit organizations from Europe in German or English until July.
The goal is to evaluate effectiveness under everyday conditions and to publish results scientifically after project completion. In selecting the winners, the jury pays attention to an innovative approach, sustainable orientation, targeted dissemination, local to international networking, a solid scientific basis, and the involvement of patient organizations. Basic and clinical research, literature reviews, conferences, symposia, and co-financing (except clearly delineated subprojects) are not eligible for funding. The Healthcare Research Award offers dedicated professionals and early-career researchers a platform to realize pioneering care concepts, strengthen interdisciplinary exchange, and tangibly optimize health structures for affected families. The announcement of results takes place in July of the same year.
