Description
The Kindsein Foundation offers "Kindsein in der Küche," a nationwide, free program for schools and non-profit organizations that inspires children and adolescents to embrace healthy nutrition. The focus is on weekly cooking classes at primary schools, the playful project "School is Healthy & Colorful," as well as interactive workshops at secondary schools. The initiative aims to spark joy in cooking and impart a fundamental understanding of balanced nutrition. Participants not only learn where fresh foods come from and how to prepare them but also gain practical experience that positively impacts health, concentration, and well-being.
The program runs over a project duration of six months with a 100% funding rate and can be requested year-round. Participation requires recognition as a school or non-profit organization in Germany. The Kindsein Foundation’s offerings combine theoretical and practical elements: in the primary school cooking courses, children receive a cooking license, a recipe booklet, and a cooking box for home use upon completion. In the "School is Healthy & Colorful" project, primary school classes are introduced to the topic through experiments and games, while the workshops at secondary schools address the influence of media and energy balance on nutrition. Interested educational institutions and organizations contact the Kindsein Foundation directly to book the program and strengthen their students’ nutritional awareness in the long term.
