Description

The three-year funding program Kinnings Step Change is aimed at social entrepreneurs based or operating in Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, or Thuringia, offering a comprehensive development step for non-profit limited liability companies and start-up phase enterprises. Over the course of 36 months, leaders from social enterprises receive financial grants as well as non-material support from experienced mentors. Additionally, a network of like-minded individuals, foundations, and social investors opens up, promoting the exchange of experiences and unlocking new funding opportunities. The goal is to scale impact-oriented projects while simultaneously strengthening social cohesion in East Germany.

Applicants must be in a leadership position within the applying organization and demonstrate that their project has potential for a strategic development step as well as a societal added value. The evaluation is based on the quality and experience of the leadership team as well as the focus on social entrepreneurial impact. Continuous talent scouting allows applications at any time, enabling innovative ideas to be submitted without deadline pressure. Through the combination of business financing, consulting, and regional support, the program specifically supports the expansion of sustainable business models and contributes to democratic participation and rural development in East Germany.
