Feature Film – Distribution / Sales

The Film and Media Foundation NRW supports small and medium-sized distribution and sales companies in North Rhine-Westphalia with a conditionally repayable, interest-free loan for marketing and distribution measures. Funding is provided for feature films that have received production funding in NRW or are of particular film cultural or economic interest to the federal state, including children’s and youth films. With a funding rate of up to 50% of eligible expenses, the program makes an important contribution to strengthening the regional film industry and increasing the visibility of successful productions both domestically and internationally.

Prior to submission, a personal consultation with a foundation advisor is mandatory to clarify all necessary information and documents. Subsequently, access to the online application portal will be granted. Applications are accepted four times a year and decided upon by the Foundation’s Film Funding Committee. A prerequisite for approval is, among other things, the use of the funding amount primarily within North Rhine-Westphalia, provided this is technically feasible and economically reasonable. Through this targeted process, distribution and sales companies receive an attractive financing perspective to optimally manage the successful exploitation of feature films in NRW and sustainably promote the potential of the regional film culture.
