Description
The KLIEN klimaaktiv mobil action program supports businesses, municipalities, regional authorities, and associations in Vienna in implementing forward-looking measures to strengthen active mobility and mobility management. Between 2023 and 2031, investments in infrastructure for pedestrian and bicycle traffic, such as secure bicycle parking facilities and public bike-sharing systems, as well as operating costs for mobility centers and consulting and planning services, are supported with funding rates ranging from 30% to 50%. Small and medium-sized enterprises can also benefit from an additional bonus of up to 20%. The aim is to significantly reduce CO₂, NOₓ, and particulate matter emissions, ease traffic flows, and make an important contribution to the mobility transition. A mobility management concept must be submitted if required, and applications must be submitted before the start of measures and no later than 31 December 2031. Offers must be demonstrated to be reasonably priced, and all requirements of the klimaaktiv mobil funding guideline must be complied with.
The funding program is provided as a non-repayable grant, which is paid out upon submission of all necessary documentation – including project and final accounting documents. In Vienna, public authorities and Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH act as the processing agency; a technical and economic review ensures that only sustainable, efficient projects are funded. Evaluation criteria include emission reduction, sustainability aspects, and economic efficiency. With a total budget of 68 million euros, the program sets targeted incentives for climate-friendly transport transition and supports all company sizes, non-profit organizations, and public institutions in the state capital in actively shaping the mobility of tomorrow.
