Description
The Climate Camp – Experts for Climate Protection, initiated by the Bastet Foundation Hamburg in cooperation with Scientists for Future Gießen, brings together young activists aged 16–26 from across Germany and renowned scientists for an intensive exchange. At Schloss Rauischholzhausen, from October 17 to 19, 2025, current research findings on topics such as energy, transportation, agriculture, and climate justice will be conveyed interactively and discussed collaboratively. Through interdisciplinary workshops and lectures, participants will not only gain in-depth insights into the latest studies but will also be equipped with argumentative tools to effectively advance societal and political discourse. Full cost coverage (travel, accommodation, meals) by the Bastet Foundation enables equal participation regardless of individual financial resources.
The focus is on the sustainable networking of young climate protectors and researchers to jointly develop practical approaches for effective climate protection. Applications via the online form require proof of age (16–26 years) as well as a strong interest in sustainability and environmental or species protection. Criteria such as previous engagement, motivation, and potential for knowledge exchange are considered in the selection process. The Climate Camp creates an inspiring space where new contacts can be made and long-term collaborations initiated. The goal is to empower young people to translate scientific findings into local and nationwide climate protection initiatives, thereby actively shaping societal change.
