Description
The climate-friendly district cooling program supports companies, interest and employer associations, clubs, as well as religious institutions nationwide in the construction and expansion of modern district cooling systems. The goal is the decarbonization of commercial cooling supplies through the development of efficient cooling networks, high-performance cooling machines, and corresponding consumer connections. Funding is provided for new constructions and expansions, provided that at the time of commissioning at least 50% of the heat comes from renewable sources or waste heat, or 75% from combined heat and power plants. A prerequisite is the supply of at least one non-affiliated end consumer at the location in Austria. The grant offers an incentive to implement future-oriented and resource-saving cooling infrastructures and thus actively support the domestic climate protection agenda.
For applications submitted between 01.03.2024 and 31.12.5050, the project must be registered before the first legally binding order, delivery, or construction measure. Eligible costs include construction of cooling networks, procurement of cooling machines, and installation of consumer connections. A technical-economic data sheet and a report from the financial institution must be submitted. Processing is conducted online via Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH, which provides expert advisory support for climate and environmental protection projects at all stages and reviews the funding documents. This offer provides the opportunity to implement climate-friendly district cooling projects sustainably and cost-effectively.
