KLIMAfuchs is aimed at Hamburg daycare centers and promotes age-appropriate educational offerings on climate protection, energy efficiency, and resource conservation. Sponsoring institutions receive support to actively involve children, teams, and parents in sustainability issues. The focus is on identifying savings potential in electricity, water, heating, nutrition, consumption, and mobility, as well as developing practical measures for everyday daycare operations. In doing so, the program makes a valuable contribution to education for sustainable development and strengthens young generations' awareness of environmentally responsible actions.

After successful registration, participants benefit from a versatile package: an extensive set of materials facilitates the introduction to workshops and parent discussions, while open and internal team training sessions impart expertise in climate education methods. During an individual building inspection, a professional energy check identifies savings opportunities and supports the implementation of concrete climate protection measures. Action days and project-related action weeks additionally provide motivating impulses and encourage the joint testing of experiments and upcycling ideas. Since the grant is awarded continuously, applications can be submitted at any time, giving educational institutions the opportunity to demonstrate commitment to climate protection with innovative approaches.
