The KLIMAfuchs initiative of S.O.F. Save Our Future – Environmental Foundation supports Hamburg daycare centers in consistently integrating climate and resource protection into everyday daycare life. The goal is to combine educational offerings with practical climate protection measures to inspire children, teams, and families towards sustainable action. All daycare centers based in Hamburg that actively identify energy and resource saving potentials, implement them purposefully through consultation, and simultaneously wish to offer age-appropriate educational content are eligible for funding. A continuous funding opportunity ensures that new participants can join the project at any time to contribute to local climate protection in the long term.

The project components include an extensive material package for educational and parental work, which is available free of charge upon registration. Additionally, open and internal team training sessions provide practical impulses for pedagogical implementation. Energy audits in the facilities reveal saving potentials in electricity, water, and heating, while action weeks offer diverse opportunities for interactive experiments and activities related to nutrition, consumption, and mobility. This modular structure creates a sustainable networking of environmental and educational goals. Applications can be submitted year-round so that every daycare center in Hamburg can pursue climate-friendly paths and gain valuable experiences in climate protection together with children.
