Climate Protection Plus

The Climate Protection Plus funding program of the state of Baden-Württemberg supports companies, municipalities, and non-profit organizations in implementing climate protection and energy efficiency measures. Funding is provided for investments in renewable energy systems, state-of-the-art energy-saving technologies, as well as consulting and planning costs, in order to significantly increase the CO₂ reduction potential in Baden-Württemberg. Eligible applicants include small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, founders, as well as public and non-profit institutions with headquarters or operations in the region. Proof of CO₂ savings potential and a binding financing plan are prerequisites for a funding rate between 50% and 80%. The maximum funding amount is up to €200,000, with a project duration set at 24 months. Ongoing application submissions allow for flexible entry of new projects and help to realize investment decisions promptly.

The selection is based on clearly defined evaluation criteria: the focus is on the expected CO₂ savings potential, economic efficiency with a reasonable payback period, the degree of innovation of the measure, and feasibility within the specified timeframe. Eligible expenses include, in addition to investment costs for energy efficiency measures and renewable energy systems, also professional consulting and planning costs. Operating costs, retroactive expenses, and personnel costs for permanent staff are not eligible for funding. The L-Bank, as the responsible development bank, supports the application process and assists in preparing the necessary documents such as project description, financing plan, and proof of legal form. Through targeted funding, the program makes a significant contribution to the energy transition and strengthens commitment to sustainable climate protection in Baden-Württemberg.
