Description

The co-financing of the INTERREG Alpine Space program in Upper Austria supports companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions that wish to implement cross-border projects in the Alpine region. With state funds, project sponsors from Upper Austria are assisted in submitting and implementing applications within the framework of the EU funding program INTERREG Alpine Space. The funding offer is valid from 01.01.2025 and is continuously available. The objective of the measure is to strengthen the participation of Upper Austrian project sponsors in transnational development projects in the fields of regional development, development cooperation, as well as agriculture and rural development. An informally submitted letter of intent prior to the EU application is the only prerequisite for applying for the state funds.

Designed as a grant, the co-financing covers a portion of the project costs and makes an important contribution to strengthening the budget of transnational cooperations. Payment is made after positive accounting verification and corresponding reporting; on-site inspections may be conducted if necessary. For the application, only a standardized funding application must be submitted, which must be filed with the Department of Spatial Planning at the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government prior to the EU application. The requested funds are available indefinitely and offer Upper Austrian project sponsors an attractive opportunity to jointly develop innovative solutions for the Alpine region within an established network of seven Alpine countries and to optimally utilize European funding lines.
