Description
The German Music Life Foundation offers young scholarship holders throughout Germany a variety of performance and concert opportunities to gain early stage experience and present the classical repertoire to a broad audience. In dedicated concert series and special event formats, for example as part of the Sylt Summer Concert, at the Elbphilharmonie, or at the prizewinners’ concert in the Museum of Arts and Crafts Hamburg, the supported musicians develop programs in duos, trios, or small ensembles. Furthermore, the foundation arranges guest appearances with renowned cooperation partners such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Nuremberg State Philharmonic, or the Hamburg Chamber Symphony. These continuously available sponsorship opportunities strengthen professional stage practice and promote the participants’ network within the German-speaking cultural scene.
Only scholarship holders of the German Music Life Foundation who already hold a foundation scholarship and wish to expand their career-promoting stage practice are eligible for funding. Applications for performance opportunities can be submitted at any time, as the program is offered continuously. The goal is to support young classical musicians through regular concert experiences, enable their exchange with established orchestras, festival organizers, and venues, and thus lay the foundation for a sustainable music career. Participation underscores the foundation’s long-standing tradition of support in the field of culture and music and contributes to supporting the next generation of outstanding artists.
