Description
The Thuringia Public Transport Cooperation Guideline supports companies, public institutions, interest groups, and associations in implementing transport cooperations in local public transport. The goal is the coordinated alignment of fares, networks, and timetables as well as the integration of flexible service forms in the regions of Thuringia. Projects in the fields of infrastructure, mobility, and urban development & urban renewal are funded. A grant of 30 to 70 percent of eligible expenses is provided, up to a maximum of €1,100,000 per cooperation and year. This can cover personnel costs for cooperative tasks as well as the development of digital fare and passenger information media, printed timetables, marketing measures, external studies, and cross-authority local transport planning.
A prerequisite for funding is close collaboration between at least two local public transport authorities or transport companies, for example in the form of fare communities or associations. Funded projects must strengthen the image of local public transport as a modern, safe, and attractive alternative to individual motorized transport and be in accordance with existing local transport plans. Proof of financial security as well as the joint creation of a local transport plan with another authority are also required, along with timely registration by October 31 of the previous year and submission of the application by April 30 of the following year to the Thuringian State Administration Office. The guideline is particularly aimed at cooperation partners who wish to advance sustainable mobility concepts in Thuringia.
