Description
The Institute for Microelectronics Stuttgart (IMS CHIPS) supports small and medium-sized enterprises as well as technology-oriented start-ups in Baden-Württemberg with a free initial consultation that facilitates entry into cooperative and contract research projects. Through access to public funding programs, innovative initiatives in the fields of microelectronics, nanotechnology, silicon photonics, medical technology, GaN power electronics, image sensors, neuromorphic hardware, and AI are financially supported. The range of services includes both the development of highly precise microelectronic and nano-optical components as well as the small-series production of complex microsystems. Based on a modern cleanroom and equipment facility, the economy benefits from comprehensive technology transfer, where design and manufacturing steps are integrated under one roof and know-how is sustainably secured.
The funding is aimed at industrial companies, especially SMEs, as well as technology-oriented start-ups seeking to bring microelectronic and nano-optical products to market maturity. A prerequisite is an innovative project in the specified field and the status as a small enterprise or founder. Applications can be submitted continuously within the framework of the free initial consultation, followed by an individual feasibility assessment and the development of a cooperation agreement or development contract. With a non-repayable grant, development costs are reduced and investment risks minimized, thereby sustainably strengthening the technological competitiveness of the participating companies.
