Cooperation Projects of the Department of Culture

The Cultural Office for Silesia at the Silesian Museum in Görlitz continuously supports cooperative projects that effectively present Silesian history and culture to the public in Saxony. Eligible entities include public institutions, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, or associations with a thematic focus on culture and media, which may enter into partnerships. The collaborations aim to implement the content and objectives of the Cultural Office – particularly the dissemination of Silesian heritage – through exhibitions, events, publications, or digital formats. In addition to professional advice, financial participation through sponsorship is available as needed. Decision criteria include the thematic relevance to Silesia, the quality of implementation, and the potential for broad public outreach.

Interested institutions and initiatives may submit project proposals on an ongoing basis, which must have a content focus on Silesian history and culture and align with the objectives of the Cultural Office. Selection is based on the quality of the project, alignment with funding goals, and the strength of public impact. By supporting and accompanying innovative formats, the program contributes to strengthening understanding between Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic and promotes the visibility of Silesian heritage. Continuous application submission allows for flexible project planning and timely consultation by the cultural officers, who assist interested partners in concept development and implementation.
