Description
The coverage of costs for home tutoring in Upper Austria supports parents of children with cancer or children with comparable medical conditions in compulsory schooling who need to make up missed lessons due to their health status. The goal is to promote continuous educational progress and psychosocial stabilization through individually tailored learning opportunities. Only missed compulsory school hours are funded – tutoring sessions are excluded. Home tutoring is conducted by qualified teachers, with a flat rate of up to €25 per lesson recognized and covered at 100%. Up to 15 hours per week can be applied for, allowing the scope of instruction to be flexibly adapted to the child's health condition.
The funding option is unlimited in duration and available at any time. Prerequisites for approval include a written application using the designated form, a medical certificate, and the consent of the Upper Austrian Education Directorate. Upon positive review, the responsible authority issues a cost coverage notice, and the amount is paid directly to the teaching personnel. The funding objective is to close educational gaps caused by illness-related absences and to ensure equal opportunities in everyday school life. Application forms and further information are available from the Upper Austrian Education Directorate to ensure a smooth application process.
