Description

The cost subsidy for scientific conferences in the state of Salzburg supports organizers of meetings and conferences that create a tangible added value for Salzburg as a science location. Within the framework of a direct grant, only travel and hotel costs as well as fees for internationally renowned speakers are funded. In this way, knowledge transfer is strengthened, international experts are brought to Salzburg, and the regional research landscape is sustainably enhanced. The funding is open to companies, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions that enable a high-level professional exchange through their events and thus contribute to the innovation strength of the state. Since the program is continuously open, applications can be submitted at any time and independently of fixed submission deadlines.

For the application, the general research funding application form must be completed and submitted. Additionally, a project description must be attached, containing the conference program, target audience, participant group, as well as a detailed cost and financing plan. Information on project partners, location, and timeframe of the event must be documented. Further requirements arise from the General Guidelines of the state of Salzburg. After a positive funding commitment, the funds are disbursed before the event begins. As part of the accounting process, conference and press reports as well as original receipts for speaker fees and travel and/or accommodation costs must be submitted. Department 1: Economy, Tourism and Municipalities of the state of Salzburg manages the program and provides advice on all funding-related questions.
