Description

With a budget of EUR 2.44 billion (2021–2027), Creative Europe – Culture supports cross-border cooperation, networks, and the mobility of artists in the European cultural and creative sector. Funding is provided in the form of grants, prizes, and commissions to initiate partnerships between businesses, public institutions, and interest groups. Projects are supported in genres such as music, books and publishing, architecture, cultural heritage, design, fashion, and digital media. Furthermore, the program supports cross-sectoral measures for adapting to technological developments, capacity building, and strengthening social inclusion. The aim is to preserve cultural diversity, increase competitiveness, and make a sustainable contribution to Europe’s economic and social development.

Eligible applicants are legal entities from EU member states, EEA countries, accession and candidate countries, as well as neighboring countries, whose legal status has existed for at least two years. Individuals are excluded. A prerequisite for funding is the implementation of a project with a clear European added value in collaboration with at least three partners from different eligible countries. Applications are submitted within the framework of periodic calls on the EU funding portal; details on deadlines and funding priorities can be found in the European Commission’s annual work programs. Applicants benefit from expert support provided by the national Creative Europe Desks, which offer application checks, information events, and networking opportunities. Additionally, funding includes prizes and commissions to reach various stakeholder groups and support innovative formats. European networks with a long-term perspective are also supported to establish sustainable structures and achieve impact beyond the project duration.
