Description
The creative competition "Foll hessisch – my Hessentag, my city" invites children and young people aged 6 to 17 to artistically express their personal impressions of the Hessentag in Fulda. Individuals and school classes can submit painted or drawn pictures (2D) as well as collages with a maximum image size of 0.80 × 1.00 m. The aim of the competition is to strengthen young people's identification with their city and region, to showcase their perspectives on the vibrant urban life, and to promote creative participation. An expert jury evaluates the submissions based on the criteria of creative expression, originality, and relevance to the motto "Foll hessisch – my Hessentag, my city." In autumn 2026, the selected works will be publicly exhibited and awarded at a prize ceremony.
Participants may submit a maximum of one work; returned artworks will only be sent back if postage in stamps is enclosed. School classes also have the chance to win a special prize of €250, earmarked for future art projects. Further attractive material and special prizes will be awarded in three age categories: 6–9, 10–13, and 14–17 years. Submissions must be sent by post to the Gemeinnützige Kinder-Akademie Fulda gGmbH by 31 July 2026 (postmark date). The documents must include the title of the work as well as the name, age, school or institution, and contact details. This competition offers young creatives the opportunity to make their connection to Fulda visible and to further develop their artistic expression.
