Funding requirements

  • Existing and newly founded companies in the creative industries with a (planned) business location in Vienna
  • Activity in the fields of architecture, design, film industry, art market, fashion, multimedia and games, music industry or publishing
  • Company establishment in Vienna must be proven no later than 6 months after grant approval
  • Partnership applications only with lead partner company in Vienna; associations and legal entities from the cultural, social, research, and educational sectors in Vienna are eligible for funding

Description

Companies, founders, and partners in the cultural, social, research, and educational sectors of the creative industries based in Vienna benefit from a grant for the development of innovative products, services, and processes. This funding instrument targets actors from architecture, design, the film industry, the art market, fashion, multimedia and games, the music industry, as well as publishing. With a funding rate of 50% and a maximum amount of €200,000 per project, competitiveness is enhanced, existing structures are strengthened, and positive impulses for innovation, growth, and employment in Vienna are generated. Project applications can be submitted continuously until 31 December 2026; the project duration is maximum 24 months and is based on three annual submission deadlines.

Eligible are directly attributable expenses such as personnel costs, material and supply costs, external services in consulting, training, marketing, and sales, travel expenses, as well as investments in technical equipment, software licenses, and intellectual property rights. Non-eligible are ongoing operating costs, taxes, land and building acquisitions, art productions, serial manufacturing, advertising placements, and invoices under €200 net. The independent jury evaluates according to criteria such as creative quality, sustainable economic added value, reproducibility, coherent overall business concept, integration of climate protection and diversity. Prerequisites for submission are a fully completed funding application, application confirmation, a De-minimis declaration, the latest annual financial statement or income-expenditure statement, as well as the CV of the project management. A semi-annual progress report and a final report with final accounting ensure transparent and goal-oriented implementation.
