Cancer Counseling Groups / Group Offers (phönikks Foundation)

The phönikks Families Living – with Cancer Foundation provides nationwide free psychosocial group programs for families and relatives affected by cancer. In specially designed formats, widowed parents, children of parents with cancer, adolescents, and grieving family members find a safe space for exchange and strengthening of their resources. The offerings include, among others, a semi-open, hybrid group for single, widowed parents, the digital Soulkids music project for adolescents, a parent seminar on coping with parental illness, and a fixed children’s group (ages 6–12) using creative and playful methods. Additionally, a digital remembrance group supports grieving children (ages 6–14) in their mourning process. The sessions are led by experienced therapists and professionals to ensure a trusting atmosphere.

The goal is to promote coping with illness, grief processing, and intra-family communication through expert guidance. Participants benefit from keynote presentations, interactive exercises, and mutual exchange of experiences. Registrations are continuously accepted; the prerequisite is belonging to an affected family and prior contact to coordinate group placement. Funding is provided as a non-profit grant, enabling interested private individuals to access the support services without financial barriers. Through this low-threshold funding, the phönikks Foundation makes an important contribution to stabilizing and strengthening families who must jointly manage the often burdensome everyday life with cancer.
