Description
The Artists' Social Insurance Fund (KSVF) provides non-repayable grants for self-employed and employed artists with their main residence in Austria who find themselves in particularly deserving emergencies. The aim of this funding is the short-term improvement of social security through support for income losses, urgent purchases, repairs, or medically necessary measures such as spa and convalescence stays. Up to €5,000 can be applied for per application, while the annual budget totals up to €500,000. The allocation criteria are based on the Artists' Social Insurance Fund Act (K-SVFG) and the supplementary guidelines, which more precisely define what constitutes a particularly deserving emergency.
Applications can be submitted continuously as long as the funding volume is not exhausted. Required are the completed application form, proof of main residence in Austria, proof of artistic activity, and documentation of the emergency (e.g., medical certificate or repair invoice). The funding amount is determined individually and is based on the submitted expenses for living costs, purchases, or medical measures. Experts from the responsible Art and Culture Section of the Federal Ministry review the documents and subsequently grant a one-time payment. This initiative promotes the stability of the artistic livelihood and ensures rapid assistance in unexpected hardship situations.
