Artificial Inseminations - §21 Carinthian Animal Breeding Act

The funding according to § 21 of the Carinthian Animal Breeding Act supports agricultural and forestry enterprises in the city of Villach with the costs of artificial insemination. Subsidies cover the semen costs up to 100% of the statutory requirements and can be increased by an additional 100% in economically difficult situations. Eligible for funding are companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions based in Villach. A resolution by the Committee for Agriculture and Forestry as well as budgetary coverage in the city’s budget estimate are prerequisites. Funding applications can be submitted continuously but must be filed by March 31 of the calendar year following the procurement. The funding amount is exclusively based on the proven semen costs for artificial inseminations and generally amounts to 100%, in exceptional cases up to 200% of the corresponding expenses.

Applications are to be submitted electronically via the official form of the city of Villach. A complete invoice for the semen portions must be submitted together with proof of the committee resolution. Payment is made after a positive funding approval and proper accounting of the actual costs. The funding agreement stipulates that all documents must be presented in the event of any audits and that the city of Villach reserves the right to reclaim funds in case of improper use. This support aims to improve animal health, secure the genetic quality of breeding animals, and strengthen the competitiveness of regional agriculture.
