Description

The Funk Foundation supports nonprofit organizations such as associations, foundations, cultural institutes, and freelance artists in the European Union and associated states in the realization of artistically demanding music projects. The focus is on the revival and public visibility of little-known works of classical music from the 19th century to the modern era. As a non-repayable grant with a maximum project duration of 60 months, the foundation funds personnel and travel costs, material expenses, as well as fees. Applications can be submitted at any time, provided a minimum lead time of six months is observed. Continuous cultivation of cultural diversity, innovation content, and benefit to the public are central evaluation criteria of this program.

Only projects with high artistic and cultural value, which are not designed as micro-projects and do not exceed five years in duration, are eligible for funding. Applicants submit a project outline with title, brief description, rough schedule, and budget in German or English. After a positive initial review, supplementary documents such as a financing plan, detailed project description, and optional short expert report may be submitted. Translation work, budget compensations, or costs for individual congress participation are not eligible for funding. Interim and final reports as well as proof of fund utilization are mandatory. The Funk Foundation seeks close cooperation and expects acknowledgment of the foundation in public relations. This way, outstanding but hitherto little-known musical treasures are made accessible to a broad audience.
