Description
From 01.01.2026 to 31.12.2030, the Burgenland Cultural Promotion supports the cultural and scientific life in Burgenland through financial grants for diverse art, culture, and research projects. The goal is to establish a vibrant, sustainable, and diverse cultural offering in all regions of the federal state, to promote cultural identity, and to secure creativity and innovation in the long term. Eligible projects include areas such as visual and performing arts, film, media, music, literature, festivals, science and research, monument preservation, adult education, or museum work. Both individual projects as well as continuous programs and structural measures for the development of non-commercial cultural institutions are considered. By funding events, exhibitions, publications, and audience engagement, public participation is strengthened and broad access to cultural offerings is ensured.
Eligible applicants are natural and legal persons, non-profit organizations, interest groups, other associations, as well as public institutions with main residence, headquarters, or center of activity in Burgenland, or with a demonstrable significant contribution to the cultural development of the state. Project-related implementation in Burgenland and a project start within the calendar year of application are mandatory prerequisites. Funding applications can be submitted three times a year: on 01.02., 01.05., and 01.10. respectively. The allocation is made as a non-repayable grant and is governed by the provisions of the Burgenland Cultural Promotion Act and the associated guidelines. The total funds amount to approximately 2.395 million euros and are administered by Kulturförderung Burgenland GmbH.
