Description

The city of Neumünster continuously provides funds for independent cultural projects in Schleswig-Holstein as part of its cultural promotion efforts, aiming to strengthen the artistic spectrum and innovative capacity of the local scene. Up to €9,000 per year is granted as a financial subsidy, and the free use of the studio stage at the Theater in the Stadthalle is offered as a non-cash benefit. Supported are independent initiatives in the fields of music, theater, visual arts, film, photography, dance, literature, socio-culture, and media art. Special consideration is given to projects with a high degree of innovation, original character, as well as intercultural and social accents that establish a clear connection to the identity of the city and region.

Active members of the independent cultural scene in Neumünster and the surrounding area – such as associations, non-profit organizations, or individuals – may submit applications throughout the year. Requirements include a brief self-presentation, a detailed project concept, and a binding financing plan outlining all planned income and expenses. Construction investments, publications, and benefit events are not eligible for funding. Decisions on the allocation are made within six weeks based on program quality, level of innovation, social relevance, and regional connection. Through these ongoing funding opportunities, creative actors receive valuable support to sustainably enrich Neumünster’s cultural landscape and expand its audience.
