Description
The Kulturpraktikum Salzburg initiative offers young people and young adults in the state of Salzburg their first practical insights into the diverse working environment of non-profit cultural institutions. Participants aged 16 to 26 with residence in Salzburg can choose between two options: Option A provides for a four-week mandatory internship for students with an allowance of 800 euros gross and full insurance coverage with the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK). Option B includes trial days for pupils and students with up to 40 hours per month, a remuneration of 250 euros gross, and accident insurance within the framework of a minor employment. Only non-profit organizations offering high-quality training positions in accordance with the guidelines of arts and culture funding are eligible for support.
During the internships, participants are actively involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of cultural projects – from financing and marketing to administrative processes. A maximum of one cultural month or two trial days per cultural institution can be funded annually. The reporting of internship positions to the Department of Arts and Culture must be submitted by September 30 of each year. The funding amount and eligible expenses are limited to the allowance and remuneration. For the final payment, a completed funding application, the accounting form, and a report of activities must be submitted. The submission deadline is six weeks after the completion of the internship, but no later than December 1. The program makes an important contribution to promoting young talent in the cultural sector and invites non-profit cultural associations in Salzburg to actively participate.
