CultureTicket Nuremberg

KulturTicket Nürnberg has been promoting the social participation of Nürnberg residents with low income since 2015. Holders of the NürnbergPass receive free admission tickets to a diverse range of cultural and sporting events in Nürnberg and are allowed to bring one accompanying person each time. The continuous funding is provided in the form of a contribution: Unsold tickets are made available by local cultural and sports partners and distributed to eligible cultural guests through the program. Participation requires proof of a valid NürnbergPass as well as residence in Nürnberg. Registration can be made at any time by submitting the completed registration form along with a copy of the pass. This incurs no financial cost for the beneficiaries while simultaneously strengthening the city’s cultural life.

The project is managed by the non-profit Bürgerstiftung Nürnberg, which has been committed to the common good and cultural diversity of the city since 2001. A management team of full-time and volunteer staff coordinates the ticket distribution, supported by approximately 15 volunteers. Interested NürnbergPass holders complete the registration form and submit it by mail, digitally via scan, or in person at the KunstKulturQuartier. After positive verification, a call is made as soon as suitable tickets are available. The reliably registered cultural guests collect the tickets at the box office on the evening of the event and enjoy the performances carefully – in accordance with the participation conditions, which can be viewed at any time within the program. In this way, KulturTicket Nürnberg creates sustainable access to art, music, theater, and sports and strengthens cultural cohesion in the city.
