Description

The course series Living in Bavaria is aimed at immigrants who wish to deepen their understanding of culture, values, and everyday practices in Bavaria. In three thematic modules – Living Together in Bavaria, Parenting and Education in Bavaria, and Health in Bavaria – knowledge about the understanding of democracy, equality, and tolerance is conveyed. In addition to strengthening the fundamental democratic understanding, practical insights into club life, volunteer engagement, or visits to educational institutions are provided. Course instructors base their work on materials from the Bavarian State Center for Political Education and create space for intercultural exchange as well as linguistic deepening of the German language. A relaxed teaching approach combines knowledge transfer with exercises on everyday safety, parenting, education, and health. Applications can be submitted at any time, as there are no fixed deadlines.

Funding is provided to non-profit organizations, companies, foundations, and associations as well as public institutions that are legally reliable and professionally competent and plausibly support the funding purpose through previous activities. The funding is granted as a subsidy in the form of co-financing of up to 90% of eligible expenses – for example, for personnel, material costs, childcare, volunteer work, preparation and follow-up, as well as a closing event. The project duration is up to twelve months, and a minimum own contribution of 10% is required. For the application, a completed funding application, a detailed project concept, and an expenditure and financing plan must be submitted. The course series offers a sustainable opportunity to facilitate immigrants' integration into Bavarian social life and to strengthen social cohesion in the long term.
