State Funding for Full-Day School Programs

The state funding for full-day school formats in Styria supports municipalities as sponsors of public general compulsory schools with an earmarked grant for personnel and material expenses. An amount of €30 is granted per student and opening day, with a minimum amount of €600 and a maximum amount of €3,000 available per group. The funding applies to all school authority-approved locations of full-day school formats and helps to ensure high-quality care and educational offerings beyond regular lessons.

For the application, a definitive staffing plan with the recorded number of students, groups, and opening days (reference date October 1) must be submitted by the end of the school year at the latest. Proof of actual personnel and material expenses must also be submitted by the specified deadline. Eligible expenses include material costs (excluding lunch), proportional operating costs, preparation and follow-up times of the care staff, as well as personnel costs for auxiliary staff. The following must be submitted: the fully completed application form, a list of receipts with scanned original documents, a stamped and signed operating cost statement, and the form “LEISURE-PERSONNEL-COSTS and PARENT CONTRIBUTIONS.” The grant payment is made within the current calendar year. Municipalities in Styria can thereby sustainably and adequately strengthen the full-day care of their students.
