State Funding for Photovoltaic Systems on Sealed Surfaces 2026

The state funding in Vorarlberg supports the installation of photovoltaic canopies on already sealed surfaces and aims to make dual use of unused roof and ground areas. Eligible applicants are natural and legal persons as well as non-profit organizations and public institutions wishing to install a module peak power of more than 20 kWp. With the grant under the “Energy Autonomy+ 2026” guideline, the state of Vorarlberg funds both the acquisition and installation of the canopy as well as the associated planning and assembly costs. Continuous submission opportunities enable flexible project implementation without fixed deadlines.

A prerequisite for funding is installation on existing, paved surfaces as well as compliance with the technical minimum requirements and guidelines. For the application, the completed application form (Annex 6 of the guideline), the final accounting form, and the complete guideline documentation must be submitted. The funding measure contributes to strengthening renewable energies in the region by sustainably utilizing sealed surfaces and promoting the expansion of climate-friendly electricity generation.
