Description
The state initiative III Market Growth Electromobility BW – Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles (Charge@BW) specifically supports the expansion of publicly accessible charging stations in Baden-Württemberg. Companies, municipalities, and operators of charging infrastructure receive a non-repayable grant for the installation or expansion of charging points. With this program, the Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg promotes the transition to climate-friendly mobility and contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions in the transport sector. Applicants benefit from funding for investment costs for charging infrastructure as well as grid connection costs and can submit planning and project design services. The L-Bank manages the processing and ensures prompt approval through the standardized application procedure.
Funding is specifically targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), public institutions, and municipalities located in Baden-Württemberg that wish to install or expand publicly accessible charging infrastructure. Prerequisites include technical feasibility, economic viability, and an increased level of innovation of the planned facility. For the application, a completed application form, meaningful cost evidence, and a detailed site plan must be submitted. This transparent design of funding requirements and evaluation criteria ensures that sustainable and forward-looking projects are realized. Charge@BW thus makes an important contribution to the digitalization and decarbonization of the transport sector in the region.
