Regional Studies Publications

The funding program Regional Studies Publications of the State of Lower Austria supports scholarly publications focusing on regionally significant topics of Lower Austrian regional studies. The aim is the thorough examination of previously little-known aspects of this region using scientific methods and their clear communication to a broad audience. Contributions that consolidate new research findings, historical analyses, or interdisciplinary perspectives and thus make a sustainable contribution to profile development and knowledge transfer in Lower Austria are supported with a one-time grant of up to €2,000. Funding is awarded continuously and is specifically targeted at non-profit initiatives and projects.

Eligible to apply are universities, colleges, non-university research institutions, public law bodies, interest groups, other associations, as well as private individuals who plan or have already produced scholarly publications in the field of regional studies. For-profit companies are excluded from funding. Applications are straightforward and can be submitted year-round. Through this support, authors and editors are encouraged to prepare regional studies findings interdisciplinarily and to make the diversity of Lower Austria visible in research and science.
