Description
The state program Work – B2/a Vocational Preparation and Training Support – Coaching at Vocational Schools and Regional Vocational Training Centers (RBZ) in Schleswig-Holstein supports the transition of young people from school to work through socio-pedagogical coaching measures. Specifically, educational providers and public institutions that hold AZAV certification, maintain a supervision ratio of 1:40 to 1:50, and operate in cooperation with regional schools and the local economy are funded. The funding is provided in the form of a grant covering personnel, material, and overhead costs to stabilize trainees at risk of dropping out, further enhance the attractiveness of dual vocational training, and sustainably improve career prospects.
Within the program, diverse coaching modules are offered, tailored to the individual needs of students at vocational schools and Regional Vocational Training Centers (RBZ). Key components include the accompaniment and follow-up of internships, career orientation, application training, and socio-pedagogical support, provided in both individual and group settings. Additionally, the introduction of digital offerings such as IT Scouts plays an important role in reducing apprehension towards technical professions and establishing modern counseling concepts. These measures thus promote not only professional skills but also personal strengths and social competencies, enabling participants to make informed and independent career choices.
Funding under this state program is granted as a project-specific subsidy, covering up to a maximum of 98 percent of eligible expenses. A mandatory prerequisite is financial participation through own funds amounting to at least 2 percent of total expenditures. The project spans a duration of 24 months, with a renewed call for proposals prior to each funding phase. Alongside qualitative implementation and tailored project design, aspects such as transparency in public relations and adherence to cross-sectoral principles—such as equality, equal opportunities, and inclusion—are also emphasized. The initiative targets regional educational providers, thereby making a significant contribution to the sustainable integration of young people into the primary labor market and thus contributing to the long-term stabilization of the regional training location.
