Description
The state program "Work for Thuringia" has been promoting measures for vocational qualification and social integration of disadvantaged groups throughout Thuringia since 2015 as a grant project. Eligible applicants are public institutions, non-profit organizations, and companies with headquarters or branches in Thuringia. The goal is the sustainable integration of refugees, migrants, people with disabilities, and the long-term unemployed into training and employment. Funded are personnel costs (gross wages), flat-rate employer social security contributions, material and administrative expenses, as well as expense allowances; services financed by social stations or statutory benefit providers are not eligible for funding. The maximum funding amount is €1,450 per month per employment position based on 30 weekly hours, with a project duration of up to 36 months. The funding rate is 100%, and no additional co-financing is required. Applications can be submitted at any time but must be received by the Society for Employment and Economic Promotion (GFAW) at least six weeks before the project start date.
Applicants must submit a brief project description, the completed application form, a description of activities, a financing plan, and proof of total financing. The decision is based on public-political interest, competition neutrality, additionality, and state aid regulations. Within a concept selection procedure, a specialist jury evaluates submitted project ideas; successful concepts are then formally applied for. Payments are made proportionally upon proof of eligible expenses. With this funding, the Thuringian Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family contributes to combating long-term unemployment and strengthens equal opportunities in the Free State. Interested sponsors can obtain details on the application procedure and formal requirements from the GFAW.
