Description
State Program Economy 2021–2027 – Promotion of the Transition to a Resource-Efficient Circular Economy (KuR-RL) supports innovative projects in Schleswig-Holstein with the aim of realizing resource-efficient processes and circular economic models. The program primarily funds small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as institutions for research and knowledge dissemination. Through a non-repayable grant that supports projects in the areas of research & innovation, environmental and nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection, environmentally friendly production methods and sustainable business models are to be established. The funding draws on resources from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Joint Task for the Improvement of Regional Economic Structures (GRW) as well as state funds.
The funding program is aimed at companies and public institutions with operational sites in Schleswig-Holstein that want to design their processes innovatively and climate-consciously. The funding covers various expenditure categories such as personnel costs, material and investment costs, which must have a direct relation to the intended project. A multi-stage application procedure allows applicants to initially submit a detailed project proposal, which, after positive evaluation, can be converted into a formal funding application. A minimum own contribution of 10% of the total costs is mandatory. Exclusion criteria include, among others, measures that are already in operation or the acquisition of real estate, thereby maintaining a continuous focus on future-proof and environmentally conscious innovations.
The evaluation of projects is based on strict criteria such as degree of innovation, economic efficiency, sustainability aspects, and positive climate impacts. Projects that reduce the use of pollutant-containing materials and increase the recycling share are given particularly high priority. By linking public funding with own contributions, the transfer of modern, resource-efficient technologies into entrepreneurial practice is to be sustainably advanced. This measure aims not only to reduce environmental impacts but also to strengthen regional economic development and create the conditions for a more climate-friendly business location in Schleswig-Holstein.
