Description

State Sports Organization Salzburg is supported as a public law corporation through continuous grants from the State of Salzburg. The purpose of this funding is to ensure the fulfillment of its statutory tasks and to cover ongoing operating and maintenance costs. The grant covers up to 45% of eligible expenses and is based on the provisions of the Salzburg State Sports Act 2018 as well as lease and usage agreements in connection with the University and State Sports Center Salzburg Rif. Beneficiaries include the State Sports Organization itself as well as its member sports clubs in Salzburg, which indirectly benefit from the fund management of the LSO. Through this partnership between the state and the sports organization, a stable foundation is created for sports, cultural, and media projects, and the performance capacity of the local sports landscape is sustainably strengthened.

Applications can be submitted indefinitely and require the submission of the following documents: a general funding application, the previous year's financial statement, the current year's budget, and a detailed financing plan. The specific funding amounts and budget allocations are determined by the State Sports Presidency and the State Sports Council. A prerequisite for approval is compliance with the regulations of EU competition and state aid law as well as proof of the legal status and economic viability of the applying corporation. An annual review by auditors and the approval of the financial statement by the responsible bodies ensure the proper use of funds and transparency in accordance with public law requirements.
