State Foundation Aid for Mother and Child - Pregnant Women in Need

The State Foundation for Help for Mother and Child supports pregnant women in Bavaria who are in financial distress and whose public and private assistance is insufficient to continue the pregnancy. Private individuals with their main residence in Bavaria can apply as applicants for a one-time grant for necessary expenses. Funding is provided particularly for maternity clothing, initial baby supplies, as well as household and furnishing items for a period of up to 36 months after birth. The goal is the sustainable improvement of the living situation of mother and child as well as enabling a safe and stable pregnancy.

Applications are submitted continuously through state-recognized pregnancy counseling centers, which review and forward the application. A prerequisite for approval is a medical certificate confirming the existing pregnancy, proof of an acute emergency, a declaration of willingness to accept counseling, as well as documentation of adverse economic circumstances. The allocation of funds is a conditional purpose-specific grant and is based on individual need. The assessment focuses primarily on the urgency of the situation, the necessity of the requested expenses, and the active utilization of professional counseling. Payment is made cashless to the specified bank account or, upon request, to the counseling center.
