Description
The Food Local Supply Program of the State of Salzburg is aimed at SMEs in the food retail sector, bakeries and butcher shops with a complete range, an annual turnover of up to 5 million euros, a maximum sales area of 600 m², and up to ten locations. The goal is the long-term assurance and optimization of the basic supply of the Salzburg population with food and daily necessities. Funding is provided for investment projects such as business equipment, modernization, or mobile shops, as well as working capital loans, innovation projects, and marketing and consulting measures in underserved areas. The program runs until December 31, 2025, with applications required to be submitted within six months of the start of the investment.
Eligible companies receive either a direct grant of 10% of net investment costs (minimum 5,000 euros) or interest subsidies of 6% p.a. for investment loans (up to 200,000 euros) and 3% p.a. for working capital loans (up to 90,000 euros). In addition, there is an innovation bonus of up to 7,000 euros as well as a “Local Supply Security Bonus” in particularly vulnerable locations. Excluded are, among others, land acquisition, leasing financing, as well as ongoing or insolvent projects. Requirements for the funding application include, among others, creditworthiness proofs, annual financial statements, cost estimates, and, if applicable, evidence of existing funding commitments. Payments are made as a one-time premium or semi-annual interest subsidy over five years. With this program, the State of Salzburg actively strengthens local suppliers and makes a significant contribution to the quality of life in the communities.
