Teaching Architecture

The funding program "Teaching Architecture" of the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education supports educational institutions in Hamburg in realizing innovative teaching projects from the idea phase through to follow-up financing. The foundation purposefully promotes the development and quality of higher education at public and private universities as well as cooperating non-profit educational and research institutions. With a funding rate of 100%, project and structural initiatives with durations of up to six years can be financed – covering personnel and material costs, travel expenses, investment funds, and a flat-rate contribution to administrative costs. Ongoing calls with fixed deadlines enable needs-based applications via the online portal. Science-led evaluation procedures involving experts from teaching, students, and university administrations ensure a fair and expert selection process.

The foundation aims to sustainably strengthen the renewal capability and competitiveness of German higher education. For this purpose, project ideas, concepts, implementation strategies, and follow-up phases are equally supported. The funding measure is specifically targeted at educational institutions and cooperating non-profit organizations that wish to develop innovative teaching formats or further develop existing structures. Strict controlling through interim and usage reports as well as transparent selection criteria ensure the appropriate use of funds. The binding framework conditions according to the foundation’s General Funding Conditions emphasize cost-effectiveness, traceability, and documentation.
