To further strengthen dual vocational training as a promising and attractive educational pathway and to ensure an apprenticeship training that is closely aligned with the needs of the economy and the labor market. The focus is on improving the quality of apprenticeship training as well as supporting training companies and young people in addressing arising challenges.

Description
Apprenticeship Initiatives in Vorarlberg strengthen dual vocational training as an attractive educational pathway for 15- to 19-year-olds as well as for training companies. With applications possible indefinitely from 01.01.2024, training companies and young people are supported in improving apprenticeship quality and accompanied in case of arising problems. The funding is provided as a grant and is closely aligned with the requirements of the economy and labor market. The goal is to further increase the high proportion of qualified apprentices in comparison with other federal states and to ensure practical, opportunity-rich apprenticeship training.
A written funding application with a detailed cost calculation is required for the application. Additionally, a concept must be submitted outlining the planned measures for quality improvement and problem resolution. After a positive evaluation by the Vorarlberg State Government (from €25,000) or the responsible government member (under €25,000), a funding commitment is issued. A condition for disbursement is compliance with the General Funding Guidelines (AFRL) as well as a final review of the cost accounting and determination of eligible expenses. Companies and young people from the region benefit from economically oriented support that paves the way for successful apprenticeship training and secures skilled labor supply in the long term.
