Description
The program Learning Without Borders – Grants for Stays Abroad of the state of Carinthia is aimed at pupils, students, and apprentices residing in Carinthia who hold Austrian or EU-27 citizenship. The funding areas include initial and further education as well as general educational activities, thereby supporting a variety of learning formats in European countries abroad. Extracurricular and academic educational stays that take place within the framework of training or studies are eligible for funding. A prerequisite is that the 24th birthday (or 25th in the case of completed military service) has not yet been exceeded. The direct grant covers individually planned semesters abroad, internships, language courses, and comparable educational projects to sustainably strengthen intercultural competencies, specialist knowledge, and language skills.
Funding is applied for via an application form, which is continuously available until further notice. The application must be submitted no later than six months before the planned stay abroad. Required are details about the project, a cost breakdown, and an overview of already granted subsidies. The eligibility criteria include permanent residence in Carinthia, Austrian or EU-27 citizenship, and the aforementioned age criteria (24 or 25 years after military service). Upon completion of the stay abroad, proof of accounting with invoices must be submitted to ensure proper use of funds. Allocation is made at the discretion of the authority based on the fully submitted documents. This indefinitely running funding offer enables young people from Carinthia to plan their international educational activities flexibly and early, making an important contribution to their personal and professional development within the European area.
